ROLE DETAILS

As a full-stack Principal Software Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader within the engineering organization, driving innovation, shaping architectural decisions, and guiding the team to deliver high-quality solutions. This role focuses on solving the most complex technical challenges, influencing long-term strategy, and mentoring engineers across all levels. You will set the standard for technical excellence and lead initiatives that have a wide-reaching impact across LODAS.

Technical Leadership:

  • Help the CTO define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for large-scale, cross-functional systems.
  • Provide technical direction to engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry best practices.
  • Conduct design and architecture reviews, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of solutions.
  • Navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions in complex situations.

System Design & Development:

  • Lead the design and implementation of high-performance, distributed, and scalable systems.
  • Address the most complex technical challenges and provide hands-on guidance during critical phases of development.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our codebase, infrastructure, and technical landscape.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with various stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business priorities.
  • Act as a technical liaison across teams, ensuring cohesive strategies and integration between systems.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.


Mentorship & Influence:

  • Serve as a mentor and role model for engineers across all levels, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  • Champion best practices, process improvements, and a culture of technical excellence.

REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of building and maintaining complex software systems.
  • Significant experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
  • Mastery in Python (Django), JavaScript (React) and expertise in multiple modern development tools and frameworks.
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns, with the ability to make trade-offs for speed and scalability.
    • Distributed systems, microservices, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Databases (SQL and NoSQL), APIs, and system integration.
